Privacy Statement for Ruth Silverstone
This statement is to reassure you that I am compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations, which came in to effect on 25th May 2018.
In order to create and deliver a unique and personal Humanist Ceremony, it is of course necessary for me to get to know you and your family, and for you to share some personal information with me. Not everything you share may end up in the ceremony, and even if it does, I want you to know that I take your privacy very seriously.
What Data do I collect?
Names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, details of people’s lives including relationships with other people, activities such as work, leisure activities and if applicable political, trade union or activities in relation to religion or belief. The form of this data is as follows:
Paper and electronic copies of Scripts
Completed Information Sheet (paper)
Emails
Text messages
Facebook messages
Photographs
What do I do with your Data?
I complete a form when I visit clients (name, address, date of birth/death)
I write notes on a notepad which I use to prepare the ceremony script.
I write scripts for funeral ceremonies and conduct the ceremonies.
I keep records for business purposes.
After the ceremony I keep only the top sheet of this form for my business records.
I may share some information with Funeral Directors (contact information for families)
How do I store your Data?
Paper records of ceremonies in a locked drawer.
Electronic files including scripts, on an encrypted PC.
When I am Peer Reviewed, as required by the terms of my Accreditation by Humanists UK, I share the script with my reviewer. They will destroy all electronic and paper copies once the review has been completed.
I keep contact details on my mobile phone and PC.
All my accounting information is stored securely on my PC.
