Celebrating love - celebrating life
Creating Your Ceremony
Bespoke, compassionate and dedicated funerals in North and East London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
A non-religious service often gives people the opportunity to connect with their deepest feelings about the person who has died,
and some say that it is the absence of religion that gives clarity.
With ritual, celebration and full attention given to the person who has died, we can create meaning and memory and a sense
that we have honoured that person.
HOW IT WORKS
A funeral service can be as formal or informal as you want it to be. There can be music, singing, speeches, poems, photos and videos of the person who has died. You can decorate the coffin and place items which held significance to them on, or in the coffin.
I can support you with your decisions and the process will be a collaborative one.
Memorials
Many people choose Direct Cremation as their express wish; it is also a good financial option. But that doesn’t have to mean the family cannot enact a ritual to mark the end of that person’s life. By collaborating with a celebrant to create and deliver a memorial celebration can bring feelings of relief, completion and even joy. Often, the thing we most need when we are bereaved, is to hear that person’s name spoken.
About Ruth
“For me, it’s all about love.”
When I listen to the stories about your loved one, it is always with love; when everything else is stripped away, love is what shines through the often seemingly insurmountable, inexplicable death of your loved one.
I am a celebrant because of love and when I speak for you about your loved one on the hardest day of your life, it is with compassion, generosity and a great sense of privilege.
It’s more than a job: conducting funerals is my vocation. I was drawn to this line of work because of my own bereavements and my positive experiences of attending non-religious funerals. Read more…
